JOY: Opening Reception

Opening JOY, a Textile and Fibre Artists of Manitoba Member’s Exhibit. Originally launched in 2022 with 31 pieces, the exhibit now showcases 28 works, having been displayed at eleven venues despite the pandemic.
In 2022, TFAM volunteers Tania Deleva and Elaine Filyk conceived the exhibit, focusing on the theme of joy amidst uncertain times. Artists were prompted to explore what brings them joy and envision their new reality. The resulting exhibit showcases each member’s unique interpretation of joy through fibre art.
TFAM aims to promote fibre as an art form, providing members with a platform to express themselves and introduce the public to the intricacy of fibre art. Through the JOY theme, viewers are encouraged to reflect on the universal experience of joy.
