Visual Arts Programs

The Manitoba Arts Network sends high-quality exhibitions to rural communities across the Province. The Arts Network covers all expenses such as shipping, insurance, packing and crating, signage, didactic labels, and artist fees for a one-month member booking fee of $150.

Exhibitions that are selected each year are from both emerging and professional artists, present a range of media and themes, and feature both challenging contemporary work and traditional approaches to art-making through solo, two-person, and group exhibitions.

Our goal is to facilitate the exchange of provincial and national artwork across Manitoba. Under the Visual Arts Touring Program, we coordinate the Annual Manitoba Rural and Northern Juried Art Show and Rural Art Mentorship Program.

Proposals will be accepted from artists, independent curators, exhibitors, and organizations. Multiple submissions will also be accepted as long as it is for different work. Emerging and professional artists from both urban and rural Manitoba are encouraged to apply.

The Visual Arts Program supports visual artists in rural areas through the annual Manitoba Rural & Northern Juried Art Show.

This annual exhibition showcases award-winning artworks in various media from over 50 artists. The featured works are selected from regional juried art shows across Manitoba, including the Eastman, Westman, Northern, Parkland, and Interlake regions. The show also includes a youth display and draws over 3,000 visitors.
