Manitoba Rural and Northern Juried Art Show
This annual exhibition features award-winning artworks in a variety of media by over 60 rural and northern Manitoba artists from the regional juried art shows held across Manitoba each year.
Every year, the Manitoba Arts Network (MAN) organizes the Manitoba Rural and Northern Juried Art Show (MRNJAS), showcasing over 60 artists from rural and northern Manitoba. Professional jurors chose these artists from various regional art shows held across the province annually. This August, we’re thrilled to host the exhibit at our new gallery space at 210 Princess Street. The exhibit will be accessible online from August to December at https://artgallery.manitobaartsnetwork.ca/.
This memorable exhibition experience engages the public on a deeper level by highlighting rural artists’ creative accomplishments across Manitoba. Together, the artwork creates a powerful narrative that shares a passionate story to move Winnipeg audiences, nurturing relationships and shared experiences across geographic boundaries.
MAN’s Rural and Northern Juried Art Show is the only provincial exhibition that comprises 100% rural artists. It is an opportunity to give artists access to new audiences in Winnipeg, facilitating provincial artistic exchange that enriches our lives. It bridges the gap between rural artists and Winnipeg’s arts scene; connecting creativity and encouraging conversations across communities.
How to take part
To take part in the Manitoba Rural and Northern Juried Art Show, you first need to submit your artwork to a regional show. For more info, please contact the Visual Arts Coordinator, who will direct you to the region. A jury selected the top 10 artworks from each region to be eligible to take part in the MRNJAS.
About the Regional Shows
Each year, a series of Juried Art Shows occur in the six regions of Manitoba, Parkland, Interlake, Westman, Eastman, Central and Northern. . These exhibitions are organized locally and open to all artists in the area. The exhibition juries are made up of professional Manitoba artists. These exhibitions are a welcome opportunity for the artists to have their work seen in their local communities as well as receive individual critiques from professional jurors. Did you know? Some regional shows have been around for over 40 years!
